IRELAND FASHION WEEK

NMCG showcased in the Irish Sea show as part of the inaugural Ireland Fashion Week. Responding to the theme of the Irish Sea, the concept centred on a pearl encased within a shell resting on a mossy rock; a quiet metaphor for the many young Irish people who emigrate to England in search of work. It reflects a bittersweet transition: leaving home not always by choice, but by necessity.

This narrative informed both fabric and shape. Velvet was chosen for the dress to mimic the texture of moss, while cream satin and organza sculpted the shell structure. Silk drapery flowed from the back, evoking the movement of the sea. A hand-beaded headpiece reflected the pearl and the glisten of water, completing the look.
